Greenwave is a creeping red fescue that naturally spreads and forms a soft, mounded groundcover. It is commonly seen on slopes or in areas where mowing is minimal, but it can also be maintained as a lawn when cut to about 2 inches.
This grass is best used in ornamental or heavily shaded areas where other grasses struggle. While it looks great, it is not built for heavy foot traffic and is less durable than the Marathon® varieties. For that reason, it should be used mainly in high-shade or low-use areas where Marathon® will not perform well.
